Martin is an independent documentary photographer based in Manila, Philippines. His work revolves around the interplay between social justice and history. His ongoing work ‘Youth of the Nation Within‘ looks into the role of identity amidst the lingering shadow of militancy among youth in Southern Philippines.
He is a Visual Journalism graduate at the Asian Center for Journalism in Ateneo de Manila, through a fellowship awarded by the Konrad Adanauer Stiftung Media Programme Asia. He was also a participant at the Angkor Photo Festival Workshops in 2019.
He is published globally on The Washington Post, The Guardian, VICE, South China Morning Post, and Al Jazeera. He works with non-profit organizations such as the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees. He regularly takes on editorial assignments with Rappler.com and Ink Global.
